MOROP
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
MOROP is a European federation of national model railway associations, based in Berne, Switzerland. It was founded in 1954, primarily to establish standards for the production of model railway equipment so that products from different manufacturers could be used together. These standards are published as NEMs (Normes Européennes de Modélisme or Normen Europäischer Modellbahnen).
NEMs are roughly equivalent to the standards and recommended practices created by the NMRA in North America, but the two standards are not universally interchangeable. In recent years MOROP and NMRA have been working more closely together to establish common standards for developments such as Digital Command Control.
