[edit] Summary
Engraving from the book Historical Collections of the State of New York (1841) by John Barber and Henry Howe.
The image can be found in the 1851 second edition of the book, page 298, at [1]
The 1851 caption read: [The above is a northern view of the Mormon Hill in the town of Manchester, about 3 miles in the southern direction from Palmyra. It is about 140 feet in height, and is a specimen of the form of numerous elevations in this section of the state. It derives its name from being the spot, (if we are to credit the testimony of Joseph Smith,) where the plates containing the Book of Mormon were found.]
