Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town (often abbreviated as MFoMT) is a female version of the 2003 video game Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town; both are part of the Marvelous Interactive Inc.-developed farm simulation Harvest Moon series of games.
MFoMT is nearly identical to FomT (Friends of Mineral Town), except the main character is a girl (as opposed to a boy), and can marry one of five guys and another three bonus characters in Mineral Town. Besides that, the game remains almost unchanged, with the exception of several gameplay changes, improvements, and tweaks.
In MFoMT, the game has a new feature, Farm Degree Points. If the player participates in certain activities while playing the game, it is possible to earn these. The total number of points earned are stored in your memo. There are 10 category of points, each with a maximum of 1000. The categories are: shipments, fishing, livestock, villagers, cooking, building up your farm, equipment, receiving letters, events, and "heroine" points. As well as points, there are seven rings to collect.
Besides working on your farm, there are five guys to marry, as well as the three "bonus" bachelors. Their affection for you is shown in the "heart color", gray being the lowest, red being the highest. There are also "heart events", that come with each heart color for each bachelor. From the shy (and slightly depressed) Cliff to the (huge) Gourmet, it's all your choice!
The available bachelors are Cliff, Gray, Doctor, Kai, Rick, Gourmet, Won and the Kappa. The easiest by opinion is Rick, and the hardest is Kappa. In FOMT, Kappa is the equivalent of The Harvest Goddess. For the Gourment, Kappa, and Won, they have no visible hearts, therefore harder to marry. For a marriage, you have to own every item on the T.V. Shopping Network, and have all the house extensions. However, once married, your husband will not help you in your chores.
Once you marry your husband, you will be able to have a child. When you pass two seasons/60 days in the game, you and your husband will suddenly realize you're pregnant. After another 2 seasons, the baby will be born. You may name your baby, but will be unable to talk to it and it will not come out of bed. After another two seasons come by, your baby will be able to crawl, so you can give him/her gifts. After another 2 seasons, he will be able to walk. Your child will not grow, learn, or move out after that.
As well as the farm degree points, they also have another addition to the game. Rings give you 30 Heroine Points (see farm degree above) for a special event or thing you did. Such as the Starry Moon Festival, Marriage, and even on by mail. These rings, other than the amount of points, serve no actual purpose.
There are also some mini-games included if you win the a character's trust. Won, a bachelor and a salesman, will provide two features that are very helpful. One is you pick out which apple is which, from his SUGDW (Super Ultra Great Delicious Wonderful), HMSGB (Hyper-Miracle Sweet-Gorgeous-Beautiful), and AEPFE (Angelic-Eternal-Pure-Fresh-Elegant) apples. Another is you hold the item up and you ask him if you want to sell it or not. At times, he will give higher or lower than Zack's shipping prices.
Other minor tweakers are a new item in the drawing. If you look in your mailbox, you will find a letter that reads:
-
- Congratulations!
- You have won the drawing,
- Please accept this.
After reading it, in your hands will be a Van's Favorite. If you have Another Wonderful Life, you could give it to him, thus gaining the option to buy one of several items for 1,000,000 G. Or as Won's friend, sell it to him for anywhere between 47000 and 57000 G. Receiving this letter will give 11 Letter points for your first one only.
Another small change is on Starry Night Festival. The day before the festival, the Mayor will come up to your house, saying he have letters for you. If you have bachelors with blue hearts or above, you will get a letter from one or all of them. You can only get letters from Rick, Cliff, Doctor, or Gray since Kai isn't around in Winter. For instance, if you have Rick and Cliff at Green heart each, you will receive two letters, and will have to choose one. However, the Mayor will just record your answer, and tell you that the lucky boy will be happy. You do not get any Letter Points from this.
