Gebra Maskal Lalibela says it was 12 churches. //ulvbot

OK, I did a check of the "other" churches and removed some per below.

  • Church of the Rock (Felsenkirche) in Idar-Oberstein, Germany - a church built in a cliff crevice
  • Abbey of Saint-Roman (L’abbaye de Saint-Roman) in Beaucaire, Gard, France - cave monastery per this link

Lalibela churches are not "monolithic" that term refers to the use of single large stones as those used at Stonehenge. Lalibela as an example of rock-cut architecture. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 18.90.2.208 (talk) 16:59, 12 December 2006 (UTC).
