Montrose, New York is a hamlet located near Croton-on-Hudson and Verplanck in Westchester County.

The government of Montrose is run by the town of Cortlandt. The Town Supervisor is Linda D. Puglisi and on the Town Board is Joseph D. Cerreto, Francis X. Farrell, Ann Lindau, and John E. Sloan. The local state senator is Vincent Libell.

Montrose is in the Hendrick Hudson School District. In Montrose there are two schools, Hendrick Hudson High School and Frank G. Lindsey Elementary School. Other schools in the HHSD (which are not in Montrose) are Blue Mountain Middle School, BV Elementary School, and Furnace Woods Elementary school.
