Montenegro has yet to take part in the Eurovision Song Contest. The country became an independent state the 21 May 2006, meaning they will probably make their first independent début in 2007.

In 2004 and 2005, Montenegro entered the Eurovision as part of the loose union of Serbia and Montenegro, but in 2006 the country had to withdraw because the two countries couldn't agree on a candidate to send.

The 2005 entrants from Serbia and Montenegro, No Name, were from Montenegro, as was the 1983 entrant for Yugoslavia.
