Montecreto is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Modena in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about 60 km southwest of Bologna and about 50 km southwest of Modena. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 927 and an area of 31.2 km2.[1]
The municipality of Montecreto contains the frazione (subdivision) Acquaria.
Montecreto borders the following municipalities: Lama Mocogno, Pavullo nel Frignano, Riolunato, Sestola.
