Monte Verde (Portuguese meaning "green mountain" hence its plants and grasslands) is the tallest mountain in the island of São Vicente, Cape Verde, the mountain is located 8 km east of the city of Mindelo, the island's capiral. The mountain is also a preservation area.

The point of the obligatory pass includes the view of the entire island of São Vicente.

The view at the top of Monte Verde are spectacular featuring views of the entire island including Baía das Gatas] and Praia Grade along with the city of Mindelo and its port. The island includes a majestic silhouette of the visible island of Santo Antão to the northwest.

The destinations during the weekends are very popular, it is only 15 minutes by car from downtown Mindelo, It also features rare plants that are considered endangered. The mountain color are brown which are dominantly rocky in the eastern part. The island also has a communications antenna which broadcasts TV and radio and also serves signals for cell phones.
