Montalto di Castro is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Viterbo in the Italian region Latium, located about 90 km northwest of Rome and about 40 km west of Viterbo. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 8,061 and an area of 189.4 km2.[1]
