Monster Energy (usually simply known as Monster) is a brand of energy drink manufactured by Monster Beverage Company of Corona, California. It was one of the first drinks marketed in a 16-ounce can, nearly twice the size of the typical "bullet" size of energy drinks, but for around the same price. It is available at most supermarkets and convenience stores in the U.S. and Canada. The original Monster energy drink comes in a black can with a green "M" logo. Also, Monster Energy is one of the first companys to think up the 16 oz. double shot can idea, and the idea worked quite well. Many teens prefer the taste, and size for that matter of that to the leading energy drink company, Red Bull. Since the Red Bull company has lost many profits due to the "bigger better idea," the Red Bull company now sells 12 oz. cans.

[edit] 2006 Vitamin C Removal
At some point in 2006, Monster Beverage Company stopped putting Vitamin C into all of their Monster beverages. The reason given to customers that complained was:
"the FDA warned all beverage companies that placing Vitamin C in a soda beverage may lead to increased levels of benzene in the can. We tested all our beverages and we did not have this problem but the FDA scare was serious to our loyal consumers who did not want to worry about any potential benzene. So we took out Vitamin C to ease all the concern."
