Monstaar Records is a Chicago based independent record label specializing in noise, noisecore, experimental, gothic, darkwave, industrial and other "Cruel & Unusual Music".

MONSTAAR Records was started in June 1998 as Spurious Communications/SPURCOM. In 2002, the name was changed to MIDFI Records, in 2004, for legal reasons, MIDFI was changed to MONSTAAR Records.
