Monsignor Farrell High School

|}Monsignor Farrell High School is located in the Oakwood Heights neighborhood of Staten Island, New York. Opened in 1961, the school was named in honor of Msgr. Joseph Farrell, a prominent Catholic Church leader on Staten Island. Once a small school, it has grown into one of the best High Schools in the country.


A main draw for Farrell is the athletics. The football team is a perrenial powerhouse, and the basketball team has had the honor of winning back to back SI Championships, for the 04-05 and 05-06 seasons. Also, the 2006 baseball team enjoyed a perfect season, led by strong pitching and a potent offense. They also have an outstanding wrestling program which has currently won back to back CHSAA City championships. The Track & Field team had at one point won over 25 consecutive Staten Island Championships.


Each year, over 1000 freshman hopefuls apply to Msgr. Farrell, with 300-350 taken each year. The largest freshman class was the class of 2009, with 353 boys taken. Current enrollment is near the 1200 mark.


For the 2006-2007 academic year, the principal is Monsignor John Paddack, who has held the position since 2002. The assistant principal is Larry Musanti. The faculty consists of both clergymen and lay staff.
