Monklands, Scotland

Monklands District 1975-96 | |
Monklands (Bad nam Manach in Scottish Gaelic) was formerly (1975-96) a local government district in the Strathclyde region of Scotland. In 1996 it was included in the North Lanarkshire unitary council area.
The area was made up of the following settlements:
- Airdrie
- Bargeddie
- Calderbank
- Caldercruix
- Chapelhall
- Coatbridge
- Glenboig
- Glenmavis
- Greengairs
- Plains
- Salsburgh
Although the council is gone, the area is often informally referred to Monklands as such.
