Monkey Business (band)

Monkey Business is a Czech funk band. It is next of projects of its leader Roman Holý.

Group teamed up in the beginning of 1999. Singer Matěj Ruppert came from group Leguar GR, Oldřich Krejčoves played in Pan Pot, Pavel Mrázek and Martin Houdek came from Dorota B.B. and Tonya Graves came from dance oriented Liquid Harmony. In 2000 debut record Why Be In If You Could Be Out? was released, with highlight songs Party Shit, My Friends and only one czech sung song Hi & Stereo or slow Piece of my life.

Percussionist Imran Musa Zangi is uniform guest. There were guested Fred Wesley and David Williams on first record. Other cooperatives on Save The Robots: Robert Howard, Raymond Davis, Clarence Haskins, Dennis Chambers and Fred Wesley.
On Resistance Is Futile is guest list more extended: Hiram Bullock, Iva Bittová , Jiří Stivín, Roman Dragoun, Filip Jelínek, František Kop, Radka Kaspar, Jaroslav Halíř, František Tomšíček, Tomáš Křemenák, Nada Weppereová (zpěv), Petr Dopita, Michael Fišer.
On Kiss Me On My Ego cooperated Hiram Bullock, David Sanborn and Glenn Hughes.
