The Monell Chemical Senses Center' is an independent institute, established in 1968, dedicated to research on the senses of taste, smell, and chemosensory irritation. The instutite is operated as a non-profit and recieves funding through grants, foundations and corporate sponsorships. It is located in Philadelphia's University City neighborhood, adjacent to the campuses of University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University.
