The Moncton Hawks (also known as the New Brunswick Hawks, Moncton Alpines and Moncton Golden Flames) were a professional ice hockey team based in Moncton, New Brunswick. They played in the American Hockey League between 1978 and 1994. Home games were played at the Moncton Coliseum.
The team had several names and affiliations with National Hockey League clubs through the years:
- New Brunswick Hawks (1978-1982, Chicago Blackhawks)
- Moncton Alpines (1982-1984, Edmonton Oilers)
- Moncton Golden Flames (1984-1987, Calgary Flames)
- Moncton Hawks (1987-1994, Winnipeg Jets)
The New Brunswick Hawks won the Calder Cup in 1982, and the Moncton Hawks lost to the Portland Pirates in the 1994 finals. In 1995, the Moncton Alpines of the QMJHL filled the void in the market that was left after the Hawks folded.
