===Molly Moon===Wonderful Girl. Molly Moon is an eleven-and-a-half-year old orphan with 'spammy' legs, mousy brown hair, a steady droning voice and large, hypnotic, emerald-green eyes.

Molly Moon's name derives from the fact that she was found on the doorstep of Hardwick House (later to be renamed) in a Moon's Marshmallows box. Molly Moon's name was originally Lolly Moon, due to the fact that Ms. Trinklebury found a lolly stick in the box with the baby Molly. After Miss. Adderstone forbid Lolly as a name, Lolly Moon became Molly Moon.

In the first book, Molly learned to hypnotize people after discovering a book about hypnotism. Using her new-found hypnotic powers she travels to New York looking for Rocky and gains the part of the main character on a Broadyway musical.

In the second book, she traveled to the United States and learned that her parents are Lucy Logan, the librarian in Briersville, and Primo Cell, an American businessman. She also discovers that she has the power to stop time with the help of her clear crystal.

In the third book, Molly and Petula are kidnapped by a power-crazy Maharaja who wants to kill Molly so she can't be the greatest hypnotist ever. She learns the ability to time-travel using special crystals (red and green to be exact) Forest (a man she met in the second book who is a hippie) and Rocky are also kidnapped later. The maharaja takes several other Mollys (from different times) so Molly needs to fix time before her entire childhood changes forever.

Molly also has a pet pug named Petula, who she rescued from Miss Adderstone.

[edit] Rocky Scarlet

Rocky Scarlet is a good-looking black boy with curly black hair, a deep, husky voice, and what are believed to be hazel -colored eyes.

Rocky's name derives partly from the baby carriage he was found in the parking lot behind a police station, the Scarlet Rocker. The other half comes from his deep, husky voice, which Ms. Trinklebury thought he'd be a rock star singing love songs to the ladies with, and so she named him Rocky.

Rocky learned voice hypnotism from the same book as Molly did, but removed two chapters from the book. He also appears to have a talent for singing.

[edit] 'Professor' Simon Nockman

Simon Nockman (or his alias, Professor Nockman) is a chubby, ill-groomed man who wears a gold scorpion pendant hanging around his neck. He also has 'bulbous' eyes and black greasy hair.

Simon Nockman's mean and cruel way of life began at an early age, when his pet parakeet Fluff was caught in a rat trap set out by the next-door neighbor. His parents did not offer him any consolence for this; thus, he learned to be mean and cruel. Since then, he has done many, many mean things to other people.

At the age of eleven, he learned how to pawn stolen goods. When he was an adult, he tricked an old lady into giving him her life's savings which she thought was for a stray-dog home. With that money, he bought his warehouses in Manhattan and started his business of dealing in smuggled goods.

After the Shorings Bank incident (see 'Plot' below) he was hypnotized by Molly to be kind and good. He was also hypnotized to have a German accent, as his original Chicago accent might be recognized by police (he told the police about the Shorings Bank incident on the phone).

Between the first and second books, he somehow managed to get twenty parakeets. His German accent wore off at the end of the second book, and he now speaks in his original Chicago accent.

[edit] Primo Cell

Primo Cell is a rich buisness man and has gray hair and two differnt colored eyes (1 brown and 1 turquoise). He is an cruel and insane hypnotist that in the second book tried to take over the world through becoming president by hypnotizing America.

[edit] Agnes Adderstone

Agnes Adderstone is a chubby, mean woman who has false teeth. She is believed to have gray hair and black eyes.

Mrs. Adderstone is the headmistress of Hardwick House, and dislikes children, especially babies. She dislikes Molly Moon especially out of all the orphanage children. Later on in the book, Molly hypnotizes her to love planes and flying.

Agnes was absent during Book 2, but returned in Book 3 when Molly traveled back in time to return her past selves to their proper times. She was instructed to fart and burp in company, as well as to be kind to the children under her care when she was very drunk.

She was last seen flying in the Italian Alps with Edna at the end of Book 1.

She also had a pet pug named Petula before Molly rescued her. Mrs. Adderstone's current status is unknown.

[edit] Edna

Edna (surname unknown) is a mean, grumpy old woman. She is the cook of Hardwick House and was in the Navy as a sailor. She is rumored to have a tattoo of a sailor on her thigh. Later on in the book, Molly hypnotizes her to develop a passion for Italian cooking and the country of Italy itself.

[edit] Minor characters

[edit] Davina Nuttel

Davina Nuttel is a child star whose lead part in Stars on Mars was stolen by Molly Moon. She has blue eyes and has a weak ability to hypnotize; however, she is not conscious of this fact. After Molly left New York, Davina got her part back (as referenced in the second book).

In the second book, she was kidnapped by Primo Cell. After Cell's plan was stopped for good, she was hypnotized by Sinclair to study as Forest's pupil. Her current status (as of Book 3) is unknown.

[edit] Ms. Trinklebury

Ms. Trinklebury is a kind, stuttering old widow from the village of Hardwick. She raised Molly and Rocky when they were babies. After the two of them were out of diapers, she only came back once a week to do the cleaning and the laundry. However, after the Shorings Bank incident, she came back to the orphanage for good. It is also revealed that she is an orphan.

In the second book, she and Nockman fell in love and became engaged.

[edit] Mrs. Toadley

Mrs. Toadley is a chubby, half-bald woman who is 'blubbery-faced'. She is the teacher of the class that Molly and Rocky are in, and is notorious for having a sneezing fit whenever she gets worked up.

Her status at the end of the first book is unknown, but she was probably not fired due to what Gemma and Gerry told Molly in one of the last chapters of Book 1. However, she may have come close to being fired, as Molly hypnotized her to tell everyone what a horrid, bullying teacher she was.

[edit] Orphanage Children

There are seven children at Hardwick House (besides Molly and Rocky). They are:

Hazel Hackersly is a thirteen-year-old girl. She has not-that-pretty looks and a whiny voice. She is the most favored by Mrs. Adderstone out of all the orphanage children. While Molly and Rocky were away, she took over Mrs. Adderstone's bedroom. At the end of the book, it is revealed that her parents were actors whose lives were too busy to accommodate Hazel, and so she was dropped off at Hardwick House by her nasty nanny.

In the third book, she dyes her hair platinum blonde and gets a walk-on part in an American film; thus, she has an American accent.

Roger Fibbin is a twelve-year-old boy. He is Hazel Hackersly's informant and spy, and updates her on all the goings-on behind her back. While Molly and Rocky were away, he took over the sanitorium after a big fight with Hazel.

In the second book, it was revealed that he was hypnotized after seeing an argument between Cornelius and Lucy Logan. Soon after, Molly restored him to his normal self.

Ruby Able is a five-year-old girl and one of the few people who is actually nice to Molly at Hardwick House.

In the second book, it is revealed that she sticks her pictures up with bubble gum.

Jinx Eames is a five-year old boy who calls Molly by her real name. He is good friends with Ruby.

At the end Jinx is the one who tells Molly all that has happened at the Hardwick House.

Gordon Boils is the second oldest at the Hardwick House. He is a messenger of Hazel Hackersly. Gordon invented the names 'Drono' 'Zono' and 'Bog Eyes'.

"Gerry" is the twin to Gemma. He is very eager. Gerry is five years old in first and first half of the second book.

"Gemma" is the twin to Gerry. She is timid. Gemma is five years old in first and first half of the second book.

[edit] Lucy Logan

Lucy Logan is the great-granddaughter of Dr Cornelius Logan, the hynotist who wrote the book which Molly discovered. In the first book, she was a librarian in Briersville. It was revealed in the second book that Lucy Logan had been hynotized, put in a deep trance and controlled for eleven years by her twin brother, Cornelius Logan. It was also revealed that Lucy Logan is the mother of Molly, and her husband is Primo Cell.

[edit] Cornelius Logan

Twin brother of Lucy Logan, he is a brilliant hynotist who hynotized and controlled Primo Cell for eleven years so that Primo would become President of America and he could rule the world. He had stolen Molly and put her in the orphanage. Molly later hynotized Cornelius to believe that he was a lamb. In the third book, it was revealed that Cornelius himself had been controlled by the Maharaja of Waqt.
