Mokena is a village in Will County, Illinois, United States. The population was 14,583 at the 2000 census and estimated to be 17,396 in 2005.

Mokena is located at 41°32′4″N, 87°52′37″WGR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 15.5 km² (6.0 mi²), all land.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 14,583 people, 4,703 households, and 3,912 families residing in the village. The population density was 938.4/km² (2,432.4/mi²). There were 4,848 housing units at an average density of 312.0/km² (808.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the village was 96.87% White, 0.49% African American, 0.07% Native American, 1.25% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 0.63% from other races, and 0.63% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.89% of the population.

There were 4,703 households out of which 48.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 73.7% were married couples living together, 7.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 16.8% were non-families. 14.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 3.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.10 and the average family size was 3.46.

In the village the population was spread out with 32.4% under the age of 18, 7.1% from 18 to 24, 32.7% from 25 to 44, 21.5% from 45 to 64, and 6.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 101.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.3 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $74,703, and the median income for a family was $82,599. Males had a median income of $58,226 versus $31,522 for females. The per capita income for the village was $26,737. About 0.7% of families and 1.0% of the population were below the poverty line, including 0.6% of those under age 18 and 4.6% of those age 65 or over.
