Mohindra College, located in Patiala, Punjab is first institution in Punjab to receive A+ grade from NAAC - National Assessment and Accreditation Council - of Government of India. The college offers under-graduate and graduate level education in basic sciences, political science, languages, history, public administration, commerce, computer applications, agriculture science, bio-technology and clinical diagonistics.

The 21 acre Mohindra College campus is located outside Patiala walled city opposite to National Institute of Sports, Patiala.

The college facilities include Central Library, Computer Center, Health Center, men's hostel, an auditorium with seating capacity of 600, botanical garden and elaborate sports infrastructure, particularly for Cricket and Swimming.

Established in 1875, Mohindra College is the oldest institution of contemporary higher learning in Northern India. Then Viceroy of India Lord Northbrook laid the foundation stone for the main building of Mohindra College Patiala. Mohindra College was initially affiliated to University of Calcutta; at the time, Calcutta was the capital of British Raj.

In 1882 University of Punjab was established in Lahore, and Mohindra College became one of its first affiliate colleges. Following the partition of India in 1947 the college came under purview of Punjab University, Chandigarh and later in 1962 under Punjabi University Patiala.

Mohindra College is funded by Punjab Government and University Grants Commission (India) while the campus is maintained by Public Works Department of state Government.

College offers financial help for economically disadvantaged sections of society. Undergraduate tuition is exempt for girls.

Women represent over half of the 112 member faculty while about a third of faculty holds doctoral and post-doctoral credentials. Mohindra College is headed by Principal Dr Daljit Singh Brar.
