Mohammed Obaidullah Alvi [[1]] is an authority on Kohsar History, language, literature, ethnography and anthropology. He is the author of Tehzib-o-Tmaddun-e-Kohsar (2 vol history books from 5000 BC to 2000 AD ) Allah na Saneha (Translation of Holly Quraan in Dhondi/Kareali/Potohari languages) and compiler of first Dhondi/Kareali/Potohari language. He is high qualified journalist and founder of two local newspapers Hill Post and Hill News largest circulated weeklies. Mohammed Obaidullah Alvi was born on 8th Nov, 1963 in Tangan, Kahu Sharqi, Birote , district Abbottabad. His father Mohammed Abdullah Alvi was an Islamic scholar from Deoband India. He metric from GHS Birote, FA from Inter college Bakote, graduation from Gordon College Rawalpindi and MA Journalism from Urdu Arts College Karachi. He is an Arabic and Urdu calligrapher and started his carrier from Daily Haider Rawalpindi in 1981 and after graduation he migrated Karachi and joined Daily Mashriq as sub-editor in 1985. He also worked with a publication organization The Initiator (Pvt) Ltd. Karachi from Sep. 87 to Aug. 88, where he complied first Political Encyclopedia of Pakistan. After a few months he joined Daily [Nawa-i-Waqt] Karachi on same post. He started publication of first weekly newspaper of Murree, Circle Bakote The Hill Post and Founder & Editor The Media Monitor by Research & Analysis syndicate. It was a new idea in the world of journalism, the MEDIA Monitor provided index and clipping from 32 newspapers from all over the country according to demands of P.R. departments. It covered printed news, editorials, articles, features & photographs on more than twenty subjects. Jan. 92 to Sep 93. The Hill Post in 1988. He returned Islamabad in 1990 and Joined Weekly Musalman on the offer of ex federal minister and leader of newspaper seller community Tikka Khan Abbasi as editor till 1992. He than become news editor of Editor Weekly Akhbar-e-Waten London (Pakistan Office in R. Pindi) Aug 88 to July 93. He spent one year in The News Rawalpindi and than rejoined Daily Nawa-e-Waqt Islamabad. He is Founder & Editor the Media Monitor by Research & Analysis syndicate. It was a new idea in the world of journalism, the MEDIA Monitor provided index and clipping from 32 newspapers from all over the country according to demands of public relation departments. It covered printed news, editorials, articles, features & photographs on more than twenty subjects. He also injected a new form of journalism in mass communication that called Scanning Report of a newspaper. It includes comparative study of other newspapers, analysis of all contents of a newspaper and showed the technical errors related to Reporting, editing, subbing, arts section, composing, proofreading, graphics and finally printing among news missing report of reporting section. He developed this journalistic science in Islamabad, and now he is the research editor of Daily Islam in Karachi and this science is his special field. He is also incharge of SCIENCE & TECH as well as COMMERCE EDITIONS' appeard every monday and tuesday countrywide.

[edit] Who Are Alvi Awans ?
Hazrat Ali the 4th caliph, after the death of his first wife Hadhrat Fatima tuz Zohra, the Daughter of Holy Prophat Muhammad (PBUH) and mother of Imam Huasan and Imam Hussain, married with other women. One of his wives was Khola daughter of Jaafar a tribal chief of Yamama. Muhammad Akbar alias Mohammad Bin Hanfia was his son after Hasnain. Alvi Awan Tribe is after the name of Mohammad Bin Hanfia. Qutub Hyder Shah was the descendent of Mohammad Bin Hanfia who joined the Army of Mahmood of Ghazni as a Commander along with his father Abu Ali the first ruler of Peshawar and d his elder brother Salar Sahu. Mahmood of Ghazi invaded the the Sub Continent in 11th Century with success. Memood of Ghazni Awarded the Alvi Commander title as Awan. Awan is an Arabic word means a friend in need. Alvi Awans entered into Sub Continent alongwith Mahmood of Ghazni and Settled in the valley of Soon Khoshab district of Punjab.
[edit] Alvi Awans of Birote Circle Bakote
There are two sub-families of Alvi Awan of Birote, one is Noor Mohammedal and second is Naik Mohammadal.
[edit] Noor Mohammedal
- One Hafiz Jan Mohammad son of Mubarik Khan who was behind Abdullah Golra son of Qutub Hyder shah (Qutub Shah) migrated from Soon Valley to Gondal village of Attock and then to Hazara. His son Abljdul Shakoor nick name Gondal Khan was born there. Hafiz Jan Mohammad then shifted to Hazara, lastly preceded to Muzaffarabad, Kashmir and settled at Komikot. Of Muzaffarab district. The other sons of Hafiz Jan Mohammad were Hafiz Mahmood, Hafiz Shaikh Mohammad, Qazi Abdul Ghjafoor and Qazi Abkldul Kasrim. Qazi Abdul Shakoor married there. He had seven sons namely Qazi Taj Mohammad, Qazi Jan Mohammad, Qazi Mhammad Shafi, Qazi Mohammad Noor, Qazi Ghjulam Mohyuddin, Qazi Din Mohammad andQazi Said Hussein. In those days Sikh dynasty disturbed social and religious lives of all Muslim tribes. The Alvi Awan Tribe was the target for Sikhs because of the reasons they were preachers of Islam especially THE JEHAD. The traders of Circle Bakot usually visited almost all the villages of Kashmir up to Srinagar. They offered Qazi Abdul Shakoor to visit their area for the preaching of Islam. Qazi Abdul Shakoor was an old man. However he accepted the offer and visited Circle Bakot along with his sons Qazi Taj Mohammad and Qzi Jan Mohammad. Some time after his other sons also migrated to Circle Bakot and other parts of the Murree Hills Qazi Taj Mohammad and Qazi Jan Muhammad settled in Birote one in Santhi and other in Khoohas. Qazi Taj Mohammad’s Son Muhammad Noor (His decedents are called now Noor Mohammadal) and Qazi Jan Mohammad’s son Naik Muhammad (His decedents are now called Naik Muhammadal) were permanently settled at Birote. They were actually religious heads of Santhi and Khoohas villages. They constructed two mosques one at Khoohas land other at Jhandkhooi with the help of local Abbasi people. There were four sons of Mohammad Noor namely Sultan Mohammad, Gul Hassan, Wali Mohammad and Mian Mir Hussain. Gull Mohammad was issueless whereas Wali migrated to Istanbul (Turkey) where he was appointed as a judge. He settled there permanently. Mian Mir Hussain got four sons Mohammad Rafique settled in Village Noon, Islamabad, Mohammad Abdul Jaleel, Abdul Ghani, and Doctor Abdul Shakoor. Mohammad Abdul Jaleel married with the daughter of Mian Barkatullah son of Mohammad Baksk son on Qazi Taj Mohammad of Mohri Narat (Komikot, Muzaffarabad, and Azad Kashmir) in the year 1944. Mohammad Abdul Jaleel had six sons late Ebadat Hussain, Haji Mushtaq Ahmed, Muhabbat Hussain Awan, Shoaib Hussain Awan. Abdul Ghafoor Awan, and Khushnood Hussain... Muhabbat Hussain Awan is author of NINE BOOKS mostly on Awan Tribe. Presently he is the founder Chairman of Idarah Tehqiqul Awan Pakistan, Senior Member of Awan Supreme Council of Tanzimul Awan Pakistan.

- Naik Mohammedal family of Birote is decendant of Molana Qazi Naik Mohammed, the elder son of Qazi Jan Mohammed. When he returned to his native home Qummikot, Kasmir in 1835, he left his son Qazi Naik Mohammed on his edu-religious post where he performed his duty with all his abalities. He merried with his family lady and had four sons, later religious schollars. Their nams were Qazi Molana Abdul Aziz, Molana Ghulam Rasool, Mian Akber Din and Mian Sharf Din. Qazi Naik Mohammed started a Quraanic School (Madrissa) and a gust hous for trevellors at Khoohas and died at 1880 burried near masqu.His elder son Qazi Abdul Aziz got the seat of his father and started teaching and preaching of Holy Qurant till 90 years. Qazi Jan Muhammad, son of Qazi Abdul Shakoor had only one son Naik Mohammad who also permanently settled at Birote at Khoohas. He got four sons Mian Akbar Din, Ghulam Rasool, Mian Sharaf Din and Mian Abdul Aziz. Molvi Mohammad Ismail and Molvi Mohammad Yaqoob Alvi, And Muhammad Abdullah Alvi the sons of Mian Meer Jee son of Abdul Aziz son of Naik Muhammad were the renowned persons of their times . Mohammed Obaidullah Alvi [[2]] the famous Journalist is the son of Hakeem Molana Mohammad Abdullah Alvi.

Molana Qazi Mian Naik Mohammed had four sons, Molana Mian Abdul Aziz as an alder son. Other were Mian Ghulam Rasool, Mian Akber Din and Mian Sharf Din. Curreent familieis of Nak Mohammedal Alvi Awan tribe are decendants of mentioned four sons.
- Molana Mian Abdul Aziz got the religious and think tank status in Birote when his father passed away in the age of 95 years in 1883 and accepted the seat of Imamat, Khitabat and religious teaching. He widened the Masque of Khooas Birote with the financial sport of Kamalal family. He also adopted saparet family system and built his house in Narhota near his father house. He married and had two sons Molana Mian Mir Jee as elder and Molana Mian Mohammed Jee second and eight daughters. Molana Mian Mir Jee possessed his father rligious portfolio and joined as Imam, Khateeb and Teacher of Khooas Masque after his father death in 1916. During 1908-1918, Molana Mian Mir Jee was migrated to Union Council Badala to feed and serve his in-laws. He returned Birote after the death of his wife with councilation of Hadhrat Molana Pir Fakir-u-llah Bakoti [[3]] and merried again with a young lady from Draikutti Rahimkote, District Muzafferabad Azak Kashmir in Kalgan Awan family. She was nice of Pir Bakoti and he self participated and played a constructive role in this relationship. Pir Bakoti was also brother-in-law of Molana Mian Mir Jee and his wife tomb is at Khooas covered by iron box now. Molana Mian Mir Jee was a largest family within 8 sons and 6 daughters by both wives. Those sons who got high admirations were Molana Mohamad Ismail Alvi, Molana Yaqoob Alvi, Hakeem Molana Abdullah Alvi and Molana Abdul Hadi Alvi. Hakeem Molana Abdullah Alvi was a schollar from Deoband India and taught 13 years before independant. He was directly got education from his teacher, a freedomfighter and founder of Silk Handkerchife Movement named Molana Obaidullah Sindhi. He is close companion of Ataullah Sha Bukhari and after migrated to Pakistan he stayed in Digree city of Mirpore Khas Sindh in 1947. He merried a lady of Birote Mash-hadi Sadat family Masooda Khanum and returned to his mother land. He spent his 24 years in Birote and died in a road accidand in Basian on Friday, 17th August 1984. He had two sons, Elder is Mohammed Obaidullah Alvi and Second is Mohammed Samiullah Alvi and a daughter Qurra-tul-Ain Alvi, merried and living in Bhara Kahoo (Islamabad) with her four children. Mohammed Obaidullah Alvi is living in Karachi single and his family of five children in Birote. He has only one son named Taha Ahmed Alvi and four daughters. Mohammed Samiullah Alvi is SET teacher and living with his family in Birote.

- Molana Mohammed Dafter was the first person who obtained high religious education from Deoband India. He was first religious schollar of Circle Bakote. He died in 1906.
- Mohammed Sulaiman s/o Mian Mohammed Ji was the first graduate of Circle Bakote from Gordon Colledge Rawalpindi in 1918. He was recomended for high education in London but he killed in 1920 in a accidant in Rawalpindi.
- Molana Abd-u-Rehman, step son of Hadhrat Molana Pir Fakir-u-llah Bakoti[[4]] who and his colliguen Pir Khan of Birote minted fake coines to disturbe British Government. He escaped from Birote and landed in Srinagar where he got martyerdom in JEHAD against DOGRA rullar Hari Sing in 1931. His tomb is in Sopore.
- Molana Yaqoob Alvi Birotvi is first poet of Arabic, Persion and Urdu in Circle Bakote. He was a modren teacher by profession. He take part in Kashmir JEHAD in 1948 along freedom fighter of Circle Bakote in Kashmir. He wrote his book Neghm-e-Jehad (Melody of Jehad)during jehad. He is also a wrestler and broke legs of many local in his prime age. He paralised in his last days and died on 18th June 1985, unfortunatly his tomb is without epithape after 21 years. He won prestige and repotition as a poet of grave, today every tomb of Birote is accupied by his verses. A stanza of his urdu poetry is bellow:-
HER BAHAR-E-GULL KO HE DOR-E-KHAZAN ANE KA GHAM
GHUNCHA KO GULL BAN NE KA ORE GULL KO MURJANE KA GHAMM
PAEY UMR-E-NOH INSAN YA HO MERG-E-NOJWAN
IS DUNYA ME HE HER INSAN KO MER JANE KA GHAMM
- Hakeem Molana Mohammed Abdullah Alvi father of Mohammed Obaidullah Alvi was Deoband (India)leorate in 1938 and the first person who established Madrissa Alvia at Digri city of Mirpur Khas Sindh. He take part in Khatm-e-Nabuwat movement in 1953 and arrested by fedral Govt order but released after two months. He is also auther of three Arabic grammer books. He came Birote in 1960 permanently but not survived economically and he started teaching of Holy Quraan to boyes and girls first in Juleal and than in Chajja Central Birote. He died in a accidant in Basian in 17th August 1984.
- Mian Abd-u-Rauf is first driver of family and died in a road accidant in Barsala north of Kohala in 1919. He was father of Dr. Masood.
- Ajaeb bi is the first lady of Birote who take her charge as head teacher of Girls Primery School Birote in 1928. She was life partner of Mian Abd-u-Rauf. She migrated to Mansehra in 1941 and merried again.
- Farrukh Bibi is a highly qualified lady who is first principal of Girls Higher Secondry Shool Birote. She is grand daughter of Ajaeb Bi and daughter of Dr. Masood.
- Dr. Tahira Haroon is first lady of family who was awarded Ph.D, the highest digree by Quaid-e-Azam University 1n 2000 on his new research of Neutanion Mathematical Laws. She is senior scientist in KRL. She is step-grand daughter of Hadhrat Molana Pir Fakir-u-llah Bakoti and nice of freedom fighter Molana Abd-u-Rehman of Birote.(to be continued)
