Wow :( This seriously isn't a 'corny' message that's just sent to anyone. This is something from someone who's worked with you and I am genuinely sad to see you leave. If anything, I'd like to stay in touch with you. My e-mail is enabled if you want to contact me. — Ilyanep 02:44, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

...And of course most of all I'd like to see you come back after you've had a chance to break. — Ilyanep 02:45, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

Wether or not you write this off as de-husked corn, I actually AM sorry to see you go, again. Hopefully this is temporary...Cheers Banes 07:43, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
Hope you do come back, we can't lose one of the most valuable contributors on Wikipedia. I'm sorry to see you go. :( --Terenceong1992 12:16, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
Adding to the repetitive note here, but I truly hope you come back. You were one of the bright spots on a sometimes dim day. Please rethink, and return Prsgoddess187 12:32, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
Per all the above. Your contributions were solid and good, in my opinion. —Nightstallion 16:53, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
Sorry if this sounds corny, but you are truly a force of good here on Wikipedia. Take a break, and come back. LordViD 19:49, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
Per above. I hope you come back like you did last time. --Anonymous editor 22:01, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
Certainly agreed. Thanks for your previous work, and I hope you reconsider your decision. Ral315 05:10, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
Your messages to others keep popping up on my watchlist, it needs to stop! (jk :P) You're a good editor, and unfortunately your RFAs never did work out... I would add my voice to those advocating a short break, and ask you to come back later, but it's your decision ultimately. NSLE 06:12, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

I don't know what exact circumstances prompted you to decide to leave, but I hope you'll give yourself some time before making it final. If, on reflection, you think that leaving is best for you, I wish you the best in whatever you invest your time in from here on. If you show half as much dedication elsewhere as you've shown on Wikipedia, you'll be well-off. That said, I do hope we'll see you back. Best wishes.

User page vandalism

Hi Moe Epsilon, just came here to say thank you for reverting the vandalism off my userpage. For that you get a smily face! (:-) J.J.Sagnella 17:51, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

Be seeing you

Bummer you're off, but I understand your reasoning. I find it hard to believe you weren't an admin, with the sheer number of edits you had (flying edits! ;). I hope your post-wiki life is good. -- Fang Aili 18:01, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

Thanks

Hey, thanks for reverting the vandalism to my user page. I read your diatribe above, and I can say, it really IS a shame that people won't listen to folks like yourself. But that's the way it goes on Wikipedia. No one listens. No one cares. No one thinks of much, other than furthering their own viewpoints through "encyclopedic" articles full of POV garbage. But hey, what can you do... Funny though, that you say civility is deteriorating. I haven't noticed it yet, but that probably just means it hasn't hit me yet. Hope you'll return to Wikipedia someday. Anyway, for the time being, I hope you enjoy (real) life outside of this realm of digital mayhem. Cheers, Fuzzform 19:47, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

Just a note

I know you never knew me very well, but also I'd never known you'd changed usernames. I always respected you as an editor and a person, and, whatever your choice, I hope things treat you well. -Rhymeless 06:14, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

Hello

Take a much needed break if you must, and perhaps sometime you might find your way back. Everyone gets the feeling that no one listens, personally I get that feeling all the time. You just shrug and find something else to work on or think about. -- Curps 06:17, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for helping

Take a Wikibreak, we hope to see you back sometime -- Tawker 06:26, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

I assumed you'd be flooded with such messages and didn't have time to read each one 50 million lines through. I think these troubles will pass and the sun will come out again, so come back then :) Tawker 06:35, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

Say is isn't so

I hope you don't leave. If you must go take a good wikibreak and come back when you feel like it. Breaks do a world of good. Either way we will all miss you. Take care and we hope we see you again. -- DakotaKahn 06:24, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

My RFA

I'm sorry you feel that you can no longer remain here. Anyway, thanks for supporting my successful request for adminship. Raven4x4x 07:41, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

Hope to see you again

I regret to see that you've come to this point. Things can certainly be frustrating at times, but troubles pass. Wikipedia is better for your having been here, and I hope that you come back someday. Take care. Canderson7 12:41, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

Goodbye

If this is your decision, then I can't stop you from leaving the project. Moe, thank you for all the work you have put into the encyclopedia. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors, and hope to speak with you again. Regards, Bratsche 12:51, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

We'll miss you...

Thanks for all your hard work. Rest easy; and come back and visit some day. Sj 19:02, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

I was about to say the same thing. I didn't catch on to your name change earlier, which is why I didn't reply sooner, but you will be missed! --JoanneB 21:17, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
And thank you very much for your support in the Esperanza elections! --JoanneB 18:19, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

Message on your old talk page

I noticed on my watchlist that someone left you a message on your old talk page. You'll have to view the source to see the message. --TantalumTelluride 03:26, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

Re: final goodbyes

Moe, thanks for your message. I'm glad you have decided to return (it seems like I am so slow in responding to messages that you've always returned by the time I get a chance to respond). But it's good to see you back. I know Wikipedia can be frustrating—it's a huge community, and of course online communication and interaction is quite impersonal. If I may be so bold, I'd like to offer a couple suggestions. First, I agree that civility is a big problem. A big problem. I don't know if people have been uncivil to you, but I've found that remaining calm and civil greatly strengthens your position; in fact, sometimes, it's almost better if the other person is rude since it so greatly weakens his position. (I'm not implying you've ever not been calm and civil.) I know you also disapproved of some people's userbox-related actions. Without making a statement on what I think should be done with user boxes, I just want to point out that of course administrator rights should not be abused, but obviously those administrators deleting the templates did not feel they were abusing their rights, and also obviously a lot of people agreed. I understand there is disagreement, but trying to see things from others' views helps mitigate bad feelings all around. I am one of those who feels that most of the userboxes are inappopriate, and even for those that are not worthy of deletion, certainly I lose respect for people that use them on their user pages. But your assumption that people disagree with specific userboxes simply because they don't apply to them is simplistic. There are many user boxes, both that apply to me and that don't, that I don't think are appropriate. For instance, I don't think templates proclaiming one's religion should exist, even for my own religion (though perhaps familiarity with a religion would be appropriate). Or similarly, although I personally do feel that Flying Spaghetti Monsterism does a much better job than "intelligent design" at explaining the discrepancy between their beliefs and the overwhelming scientific evidence, I feel that such a template is rude at best. Realize that many of these issues are more complex and more nuanced than you may realize.

I'm sorry you feel that no one listens to you. Obviously, many responded to your departure message on your userpage, but I understand your point about not listening on RfA's and such. I haven't looked at the specific situations, but just because no one explicitly refers to your comments doesn't mean that no one has read them or agrees with them. A lot of times, someone is especially eloquent and people may refer to that comment instead. Or they may refer to none at all. Or it may be that people don't listen to you. For that matter, I'm not sure my comments have much impact, either. If it stresses you, just stick to working on encyclopedia articles—that's what we're here for, after all. And again, if your comments reflect the reasoning you used on your userpage as I mentioned above, people may see it as overly simplistic or an inability to see through others' eyes. Also, reputation and credibility go along way. There are several factors involved, such as experience, quality of comments, low error rate, remaining cool and collected, civility, and so on. Everyone has editors to whom they look up. For instance, I hold Michael Snow, Jfdwolff, Encephalon in the highest regard; actually UninvitedCompany, Raul654, and SWAdair are up there too, and these are just off the top of my head. To help, I'd advise against the repeated leaving and rejoining. While you may derive some temporary pleasure from the nice comments people leave to entice you to return, overall, it hurts your credibility and reliability. There's nothing wrong with getting stressed and taking a break, but try to make it less about you. Just write that you're taking a wikibreak: you can say that things are getting stressful and you need to get away, you can write that you disagree with some recent events and would like to get away for a bit, you can write that real life has gotten busy and you need to take a break. But try to stay away from the no one listens to me or no one votes for me complaints—obviously, there are many many registered users whose comments carry much less weight than yours, and most will never be suitable administrators. Neither complaint bolsters your credibility or makes you more suitable for being an administrator. I know it's little consolation, but there is plenty to do on Wikipedia without being an administrator—I actually had no intention of pursuing it until someone offered to nominate me. You're a great user and a valuable contributor, and yes I did notice your username change, as I like to keep an eye on how you're doing. I don't think Wikipedia would fall apart without you, nor would it fall apart without me, or without most of its contributors. But you do enrich Wikipedia by your continued activity, and I'm glad you're back. I don't mean to be overly harsh, but your message implied that you wanted the truth and not any "feel-good" comments, so here it is. I would like to see you as an administrator one day, once you can work through the other emotional issues. And I'm afraid I don't particularly care for your attempt to trick people into thinking they have new messages when in fact they don't—I tend to prefer honest, upfront approaches, and I don't think I would ever support a candidate who was engaged in this sort of deception, even as a joke. Perhaps my sense of humor is less developed than that of others. Anyway, in summary, I like you and I'm glad you're sticking around. And you've obviously got a lot of fans here too. I hope things improve for you. And I hope to see you as an administrator one day. — Knowledge Seeker 04:48, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

I was responding to the message on your user page, which referred to Wikipedia-related problems, not real life. I certainly would not propose to use Wikipedia as an escape from real life or that Wikipedia is more important than other matters in your life. I must admit that your messages seem contradictory or a bit erratic to me. You complained about not becoming an administrator on your user page, yet when I respond to this, you reply that you don’t wish to be one. I’m happy that Aya is so important to you, though I don’t understand why you are making such a big deal of her greater importance than Wikipedia. I enjoy Wikipedia greatly, yet there are countless people who are far more important to me. If Wikipedia is interfering with your personal life then I would suggest that you take a break from Wikipedia.
You are obviously going through a difficult time in your life. I strongly urge you to speak with a psychiatrist, psychologist, counselor, therapist, or even a trusted teacher or relative. You are not the only person to have felt this way, nor will you always feel this way. Accept the guidance of someone who has experience with these matters.
You are free to do what you wish with the new messages box (though I wouldn't be surprised if someone removes it). As long as you're willing to accept the annoyance and disappointment of those who thought they had a new message and the time they waste loading a new page, then keep it there—but it's a lack of considerateness I wouldn't have expected of you. — Knowledge Seeker 07:34, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

My RfA

Thank you for your constructive critisizm during my RfA! It has decided to postpone making me an administrator based upon recent consensus (or lack thereof). Thanks for the kind remarks and I hope to continue to see you around the project. Cheers, Zsinj 08:38, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

I didn't even notice you changed your SN. Cool. -- Lbmixpro 05:52, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

Congrats on your edit milestone! It's amazing how you can come up with so many edits. I like the Moe Epsilon name better. At least it won't attact to much anti-wrestling vandalism. Holla back at me sometime. --Lbmixpro 05:01, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

User talk:70.19.66.105

Hi, I've just noticed that you edited my user page and left a warning on this IP's talk page. I appreciate your diligence, and given the previous warnings to that IP I can understand your worries, but I'd like to speak up for this editor. He or she actually made useful edits to a featured list I created and had left me a polite note regarding table formatting. I hope this incident hasn't scared away someone who wants to become a better editor. It seems that this person acted from genuine good intentions, at least where I was concerned. Help

Hi, do you think you could do me a favour, revert to me on Macedonia (region). The sockpuppets are closing in... I asked Raul654 if he could see to it quicker, but that doesn't stop them edit warring. --Latinus 23:53, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

RFA Thanks

Thank you!
Thank you for your support in my recent RFA. It passed 53/1/2 and I am now an administrator. I appreciate that some of you made exceptions to your usual requirements re length of service and so on because we've interracted positively in the past, or because of my credentials, so I will endeavour to use my new mop cautiously. I'm always open to feedback and gently constructive criticism. If you're not an admin and need some assistance do of course please let me know. Thanks again --kingboyk 00:23, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

Pranks and sometimes about graphics...

Hi there :)! I just dropped by to see if I could speak to the famous #1 Wikipediholic. First of all, would you grant me the honor of designing a graphic name thingy for you to put on your User Page? I'm not forcing it on you, but surely your greatness deserves more than a puny Word Art. Secondly, I loved the "New Message" prank; I'm stealing it. Thanks for listening to the rantings of a crazy person! --Master of Puppets

UPA

Congratulations, Moe Epsilon! Your user page has been nominated for the Esperanza User Page Award! Five judges will look over your user page and award it 1-10 points in four categories:

  • Attractiveness: general layout, considering colour scheme and/or use of tables if applicable
  • Usefulness: links to subpages or editing aids, helpful information
  • Interesting-ness: quirky, unique, captivating, or funny content
  • General niceness: at the judges' discretion

But first, you must be chosen as a finalist. If your user page is chosen as one of the five finalists, you'll have the chance to win an award created just for having a great user page!

About you Removing your name from the 'On Wikibreak' section

Hi, What do you mean your 'not important'? By all accounts it seems this is not a true statement of yours. For all its worth (coming from a new user...) I wish you a speedy recovery and hope you return full time.

General business

David, you are a reasonable editor, and you know that we all contribute in our own ways, making Wikipedia work. I agree that Naconkantari, like myself, hasn't done massive article editing. However, you surely must see that the capacity in which he chooses to contribute to Wikipedia would be more effective with sysop privilleges, such as blocking and (a reliable) rollback button. From your fair opposition on the RfA page, I understand that you are concerned with lack of article editing, writing, and so forth. However, in observing Naconkantari's work at Wikipedia, it is almost silly that he doesn't have the right tools to do the best job possible, and should be able to handle persistent vandalism without an intermediary, like AIV or the sysop notice board. With the RfA going into the stretch, I hope you'll consider my points. --Master Jay 22:12, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

RE:Graphics

I was just wondering, what did you want for your graphic? I was thinking Moe Epsilon in "glass" letters, overlaid over a starfield with some nebulae/planets/etc in it? -- Master of Puppets 22:43, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

Andropolus and Macedonian876

I have blocked Andropolus indefinitely as an abusive sockpuppet. It doesn't seem to me that Macedonian876 has violated any particular Wikipedia policies (Andropolus's word is not sufficent proof of sockpuppetry), so I have simply informed him of the block and encourage him to follow Wikipedia policy in the future. I hope that this helps sort things out. Canderson7 04:00, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

I am glad...

that you decided to stay on the Wiki. Your efforts and unbiased work are needed here...don't say you'll leave again please :-)
