Modestas Paulauskas (March 19, 1945 in Kretinga) was a Lithuanian basketball player who won gold with the Soviet basketball team in Basketball at the 1972 Summer Olympics. He also won a bronze medal with the team at the 1968 Olympic Games. Paulauskas trained at VSS Žalgiris in Kaunas. He is known as one of the best players of all-time of Lithuania. He had a tremendous dribbling ability and he was "foot-ahead player" of his generation. At current time he works as a coach with youngsters.
