Modern Life Is War (MLIW) is a Marshalltown, Iowa-based melodic hardcore punk band. They have gained notoriety of late for their unique take on the melodic hardcore and post-hardcore sound, usually avoiding standard songs structures and abandoning the use of breakdowns almost entirely. They are currently signed to Deathwish Records, who is planning a rerelease of the band's first full-length, My Love, My Way, this fall. Modern Life Is War recently finished a cross country tour with Bane in the summer, and embarked on another with Strike Anywhere and Ignite in the fall.
