Talk:Mochi ice cream

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Alight, I understand why the Yukimi Daifuku article was made and mochi ice cream wasn't. It seems there's contradicting sources on who created mochi ice cream first. I was pretty sure it was Mikawaya, but Lotte claims a much earlier date. I'm gonna contact Mikawaya and see what distinctions (if any) are being made to claim creation of mochi ice cream over Lotte. If Lotte did invent mochi ice cream, then I feel this article might be redundant or a less accurate name than yukimi daifuku. Falsedef 10:24, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

"Lotte claims"? Lotte filed a trademark application for Yukimidaifuku with the Japan Patent Office on July 30, 1981 (application number: s56-64587; registration number: 1742355). You can easily verify this info with the Japan Patent Office. I am very offended that “mochi ice cream” has been categorized as California-born. Californiacondor 16:57, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
