MobyMAP
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
mobyMAP is an application for creating and display city maps on mobile phones.
mobyMAP was created by two high school students from Croatia: Matej Špoler and Tomislav Car in 2003/2004. Matej and Tomislav decided that all the mobile maps they could get their hands on just weren't good enough so they decided to create their own solution.
The main advantage of mobyMAP was its capability of displaying vector format city maps. All the solutions till then included images like gif or png images
[edit] Technology
mobyMAP was created using the Java programming language, or J2me - Java 2 Micro Edition, a special version of Java used for development of mobile phone games and applications.
For the purpose of map development, a special editor called the mobyMAP Editor was developed.
