Mobile is a Canadian indie/alternative rock band from Montreal, though based in Toronto. They consist of Mat Joly (vocals), Christian Brais (guitar), Pierre-Marc Hamelin (drums), Frank Williamson (guitar), and Dominic Viola (bass). The members of Mobile have been playing together for over a decade.
Within a year of playing in clubs around Toronto they gained a contract with Interscope/Universal, a first for a band from Montreal. Their debut album Tomorrow Starts Today was released April 18, 2006. They have been nominated for a MuchMusic Video Award for Best Post Production on "Out of My Head".
The video for "Out of My Head" is the only in MuchMusic Countdown history to spend two non-consecutive weeks at #1, where two different versions of the song and video were played.
The band is also featured in EA Sports' NHL 07 and FIFA 07. Their song "Montreal Calling" is part of a soundtrack which includes Canadian indie bands while their song "New York Minute" is featured in FIFA 07.
