Mobile-8 is a new and fast growing cellular operator which was established in December 2002. To meet the ever increasing need of mobile communication services in Indonesia, Mobile-8 offers its product called Fren which was launched on the 8th December 2003. Currently the company has over two million subscribers and is growing fast daily.

In the process of deploying the technology, Mobile-8 strategically teams up with Qualcomm as its supplier of the CDMA technology and Korea Telecom Freetel (KTF) as its Operation & Maintenance consultant.

To make possible for its customers to enjoy various attractive and innovative features and services, Mobile-8 deploys CDMA2000 1x and CDMA2000 1x EV-DO technology which is supported by close to 465 BTS within Java and surrounding islands. Currently the company has plans to expand throughout the Indonesian archipelago within the next year or two (starting with Sumatra, Kelimantan, and Sulawesi).
