Who was the actress who played Moaning Myrtle in the movie version of Chamber of Secrets? I'm curious about this because I watched an A&E special about Charles II, and the actress who played Catherine of Braganza had a very similar voice. -- Smerdis of Tlön 14:29, 1 Apr 2004 (UTC)

IMDB came through. It was Shirley Henderson. She was also in 24 Hour Party People. -- Smerdis of Tlön 14:37, 1 Apr 2004 (UTC)

As Moaning Myrtle was "ghostified" as a result of Lord Voldemart's activities, will she "go elsewhere" if he is destroyed? Jackiespeel 15:51, 29 July 2005 (UTC)

IMO, Moaning Myrtle became a ghost because she was killed, not because Lord Voldemort killed her. Therefore, Moaning Myrtle may or may not stay because Voldemort is killed, but that would be by her own choice. --Deathphoenix 16:37, 29 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] House At Hogwarts

Out of all edits on Myrtle, this one is the most debated. What house was Moaning Myrtle in at Hogwarts? Dragix 20:08, 24 March 2006 (UTC)Dragix

Not Slytherin.

In the movies I always assumed she was a Ravenclaw. She does wear a Ravenclaw tie in the movies but I don't think JK ever said in the books.

Why did you remove what I had written? I am sure that Myrtle wears Slytherine uniform in the second movie, you can see it in that scene when Harry finds the entrance to the chamber, Myrtle sits beside him an says sth like 'be careful'. and on her uniform you can see the symbol for slytherine. And I think Myrtle's house was not mentioned in the book by that time because it was rather not important in the book, but as they had to show it in the movie they simply chose one and that was Slytherin. J K Rowling later wrote about Myrtle's house and in her story it was Ravenclaw.
