MLS Scoring Champion Award

The MLS Scoring Champion Award was an association football award given out by Major League Soccer in the United States. This award was handed out to the player with the most points in the regular season and was created in 1996. Points are determined by the number of goals, multipled by two, plus the number of assists. The award was sponsored by Budweiser.
The award was discontinued in 2005 and replaced by the MLS Golden Boot. Preki is the only player to win the award more than once.
