Talk:Mixed Company (Stanford University)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Replaced the page, as the current information is informational enough to keep, and there is no longer any "vanity" as was claimed before. Popularity on the Stanford campus isn't the only measurement of importance of a group, as their standing in the national a cappella world is also something to consider. 128.12.191.187 05:18, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
- ...says the person with the Stanford IP Address. I think the case for notability is comparatively weak here: take a look at Talisman A Cappella, a group that is unambiguously more noteworthy than this one. Note the list of accomplishments and lack of discography. This is an encyclopedia, not a database of obscure music groups. If we're going to have a list of albums for this group, we should have one for pretty much every A Capella group out there. Maybe we should - I'm not sure what the standards are for this sort of thing. Your thoughts? 203.199.50.16 10:26, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
Deleted the membership list - it was just a vanity page, and the current membership of the fifth or sixth-most popular a capella group at Stanford is not encyclopedic. 128.12.51.36 01:26, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
This page needs a lot more work in general. I'm going to throw up a revision tag and take out all the sales-pitch type stuff. I strongly suspect this was copied straight over from their webpage, probably by a member of the group. Jkerwin 01:29, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
There was very little that I could save on this page, and I don't really have the time or desire to do it myself. If anybody wants to fix it up and take down the tag, be my guest. Otherwise, maybe it belongs in some larger article (college a capella, stanford university a capella?) Jkerwin 02:54, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
