Mixed-interval chord

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In music a mixed-interval chord is a chord not characterized by one consistent interval. Chords characterized by one consistent interval, or primarily with alterations, are equal-interval chords. Mixed interval chords occur more in atonal music and tend to be dissonant. (DeLone et. al. (Eds.), 1975, chap. 5)
