[edit] User:Germaine Histler and User talk:Germaine Histler
Delete these - one-off joke aimed at another account with a name deemed inappropriate (User:Germaine Hitler). No edits from this account in a year (only a handful were ever made). No value to the project. BD2412 T 23:24, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
- Keep -- I don't endorse a piecemeal approach to the issue of "inappropriately named" user accounts. The page content itself is inoffensive. We need to create a more powerful and comprehensive tool, perhaps a policy that user pages created from permabanned accounts be speedied. John Reid 00:39, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
- Clarification: the pages for which I am requesting deletion are not the inappropriately named user account, but were instead created as a joke aimed at the inappropriately named user account (but with one added letter in the name). Pages created merely as a joke in any space should not be kept. BD2412 T 00:44, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
- As near I can tell, the page was created by the so-named user. This may or may not be a sock of User:Germaine Hitler; frankly I don't care. The content of the page is not in question but its author and title, which are one and the same. MfD is not the right place for this. John Reid 04:42, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
- I may be mistaken, but I was under the impression that a different user created this account to attack the creator of the more offensive variation. In this particular case, I don't care that the username exists, I'd just like to see the page deleted. It serves no conceivable purpose to the encyclopedia. Cheers! BD2412 T 13:56, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

- Delete I see no purpose for any user naming himself after such a negative figure of recent history. At best this is bad taste combined with insensitivity to those that lost relatives during the holocaust, at worst this might be seen as an attempt at light trolling. Of course, if you have a good reason for taking this name (Perhaps this being your real name?) then my objections are removed and I offer an honest apology. Otherwise, welcome to Wikipedia, but please choose a less controversial name. CharonX/talk 00:08, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
- Keep. Neither the userpage nor the talk page are harmful in themselves, nor big - there's not much there to delete. If there's a problem with the username then Wikipedia:Username#Changing inappropriate usernames discusses what to do. --HughCharlesParker (talk - contribs) 21:11, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
