But mostly it's about the Unification Church doctrine regarding the mission of Jesus (the first Messiah) and the Lord of the Second Advent (Second Coming of the Messiah).
The messiah comes as a human being created by God, and is not a Trinitarian aspect of God - despite what is believed by 90% of modern Christians. UC teaches that God created Jesus - which departs from the Trinitarian doctrine that God the Father and God the Son are (in some mysterious and undefinaable way) "one". In the UC, they are entirely distinct (discrete?) entities, although they are of course in a heartistic relationship.
This understood, the mission of the Messiah when he "comes" (or rather is born on the earth) is:
- to grow to complete maturity by his own efforts and the fulfillment of his responsibility
- to help other people to do the same
There is much more, I'm just getting started. --Uncle Ed 20:03, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
