Miss World 2001

The 51st Miss World pageant took place in Sun City, South Africa for the fifth time in the pageant's 51 year history. 93 contestants competed for the crown. The 2001 pageant was also a landmark as that year's winner Nigerian Ibiagbanidokibubo "Agbani" Asenite Darego becomes the first black African winner of the Miss World crown.
