Miss Universe 2000 was held at Eleftheria Stadium, Nicosia, Cyprus on May 12, 2000. Miss Universe 1999 Mpule Kwelagobe of Botswana crowned Lara Dutta of India as Miss Universe 2000. 79 delegates competed for the crown.
