Miss South Carolina Teen USA

The Miss South Carolina Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of South Carolina in the Miss Teen USA pageant. The pageant has been directed by RPM Productions since its inception.
South Carolina is one of the least successful states at Miss Teen USA, having only placed four times. They have, however, produced one winner, when Vanessa Minnillo won the Miss Teen USA crown in the national pageant held at Shreveport, Louisiana in August 1998. Minnillo went on to become a successful actress and entertainer.
South Carolina does, however, hold the record for the most Miss Congeniality awards. It has won three: in 1994, 1998 (Minnillo is one of only two Miss Teen USAs to have also won the Miss Congeniality award) and 2002.
Four South Carolina teens have won the Miss South Carolina USA title and competed at Miss USA. Beth Woodard, who was the first to hold the Miss South Carolina Teen USA title, was also the first Miss Teen USA delegate from any state to win a Miss USA state title.
