Miss Norway

Frøken Norge or Miss Norway, is a Norwegian beauty pageant, qualifying two winners to the global contests Miss Universe and Miss World. It has been on since the beginning of the 1950's. The winner used to be handpicked by the Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet.
Since 1985, Miss Norway is a registered trademark in Norway and sponsored by Geir Hamnes. The pageant is televised by the broadcaster TV2. The Miss Universe-delegate is picked by a jury and the Miss World-delegate is chosen by the viewers. It is possible for the contestants to make returns to the pageant.

In the Miss Norway requirements it is written that the candidates must not have been pictured naked in a commercial connection.
In 2004, contestant Aylar Lie was disqualified from the Miss Norway contest when it was found she had done 2 pornographic movies.
