Miss Colorado USA

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Miss Colorado USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Colorado in the Miss USA pageant.

From 1993 - 2006 the Miss Colorado USA state pageant was directed by Carol Hirata and the Carlton Group. It has been announced that in 2007 Colorado will merge into the Future Productions group.

Colorado has been one of the more unlucky states at Miss USA, having not had a finalist since 1963. They have, however been successful with other awards, being one of only four states to have been awarded Miss Photogenic twice.

Two Miss Colorado USAs were former Miss Colorado Teen USAs and four were former Miss America contestants. One of Colorado's winners was Katee Doland, most notably a Triple Crown winner. She is one of six in the Nation to win all three state titles: Colorado Teen USA, Miss Colorado USA and Miss Colorado America. In a relatively rare occurrence, the titleholders from 2002 and 2003 had previously held Miss Colorado titles in the same order in subsequent years.
