The Miss Barbados World beauty pageant selects representatives to the Miss World pageant from Barbados. The current Franchise holder is Stephanie Chase. She was a former Miss Barbados World having won the title in 2001. Her company Chaselint productions runs the local pageant. prior to Stephanie having the franchise, Presgen productions was the franchise holder. Chaselint also produces the Mister Barbados World pageant.
The Next edition of the pageant is scheduled for July 29th. Mister & Miss Barbados World will be selected and represent Barbados in China & Poland Respectively.

Miss Barbados 2005, Marielle Onyeche was the first Miss World Contestant to wear her in dreadlocks.
In 2004 Kennifer Marius placed 3rd in the Talent Competition behind Antigua & Barbuda and China
Stephanie Chase, Miss Barbados World 2001, was the first winner of Miss Worlds Talent Award. She received this award after she gave captivating performance of "Don't Cry ot Loud".
In 1974, Linda Field represented Barbados in the Miss World Contest at Royal Albert Hall in London, England. At that time, the pageant's representative on the island was Cortez Blackett, a well-known local promoter of events. Linda Fields was a semi-finalist in that year's pageant doing Barbados proud but unfortunately did not win.
The following year in 1975, Barbados was represented by a very popular local beauty, Peta Greaves. Miss Greaves travelled to London chaperoned by a well known local designer, Carol Cadogan. Carol designed the Miss Barbados National Dress that Peta was wearing in the beauty pageant. It represented a "Malato Woman" from Barbados Slaves Days and was to be displayed at the Barbados Museum after the pageant ended.
A local business and retail shop in Barbados, Cave Shepherd & Co. Ltd. featured a display window on Miss Barbados 1975. It showcased Miss Greaves in a life-sized photo, wearing a bikini in a leopard printed pattern with other relevant photographs taken by local photographer, Brooks LaTouche and features about the pageant that was scheduled to take place in the UK
During her 2-week stay, Miss Greaves received several phone calls to her hotel room in London from local people who were captivated by her contageous smile and deportment but she did not place in the competition.
