Miscellaneous Wing Commander fighters

In the Wing Commander fictional universe, modularity and intercompatibility are a premium, just as in the real world. A number of fighters on which little is known share common design cues in the Wing Commander Universe, all derived from a common model:
[edit] Demon light fighter (Wing Commander Privateer, 1993)
The Demon light fighter is a small, swift and powerful craft used commonly by bounty hunters in 2669 in the Gemini Sector, a backwater sector on a forgotten part of the war front. Though its missile loadout is small, the Demon is a match for most fighters in the Gemini Sector.
[edit] Centurion Heavy fighter (Wing Commander Privateer, 1993)
Only the richest of bounty hunters, privateers and civilians could afford the Centurion which came at a cost of 200,000 credits. It was designated the best civilian available fighter craft in 2669, sporting four slots for guns, a rear turret slot for two guns and a tractor beam plus two slots for missile launchers and heavy ordnance. It's main drawback was the lacking cargo space of 50 units, but persons buying a Centurion usually don't go on trading missions.

A bounty hunter's budget choice. Coming at 75,000 credits it was modestly fast and had only two gun slots to the front; But an aft turret made up for the lack of maneuvarability and forward firepower.
[edit] Galaxy class fighter/freighter (Wing Commander Privateer, 1993)
The Galaxy class, coming at 150,000 credits, was the trader's choice of 'fighter'. Not overly maneuverable or fast, it had the cargo capacity to get masses of valuable goods from one base to another. Adding two turret spots (top and bottom) to the mix, and you got a well-protected vessel for the causal trader.
[edit] Phantom medium fighter (Wing Commander Armada, 1993)
The Phantom medium fighter is a long-range interceptor used by Confed Special Forces in 2669 aboard the special operations carrier Lexington (not to be confused with the line carrier TCS Lexington). All known Phantoms were destroyed when Lexington was captured by the Kilrathi weeks before the war's end.
[edit] Banshee heavy fighter (Wing Commander Armada, 1993)
The Banshee heavy fighter is a powerful fighter bomber also used by special forces in 2669. Its speed, strength and firepower are comparable to the Kilrathi Goran heavy bomber. All known Banshees were destroyed at the same time as the Phantoms.

The Scimitar was a reuse of the 3d model of the Banshee. All particulars are identical to the Wing Commander 1 version of the fighter.
