Mirko Vučinić (in Serbian Cyrillic: Мирко Вучинић, born October 1, 1983 in Nikšić, Montenegro) is a Montenegrin footballer forward currently playing in the Italian Serie A for A.S. Roma.
Having been signed at a young age, Vučinić showed remarkable promise early and was quickly snatched by the often struggling U.S. Lecce. In his third (2004-2005) season for the club, the 21 year-old Vučinić shelled out 19 goals in 29 games and silenced all doubters of his abilities as a forward player. Following that extraordinarily successful season, his progress came to a halt with only 9 goals recorded in 31 games.
He was recently injured, so he was not able to participate in the World Cup for Serbia and Montenegro. He was replaced on the field by Dusan Petkovic, who also resigned shortly thereafter.
On 30 August 2006, he signed a 1+4 years contract with A.S. Roma[1] , for €900,000 per year.
