Talk:Min Ko Naing
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
hi :-)
I just created this page about Min Ko Naing, Burmese student leader. As this is the first article I write for Wikipedia (so I'm really little experienced), perhaps you (other wiki users) could help me with editing it.
Something else:I've written on this article that Min Ko Naing's real name is Paw OO Tun. But, searching the internet, I found his name in various versions of spelling: Paw U Tun, Paw Oo Htun... I used the most widespread-one, assuming this is the correct-one. Are the two others also correct? I think this happens because tyhe Burmese people use a very different alphabet from ours, so it's kind of hard&controversial to transliterate a name.
I'm waiting for your comments and editing. Best wishes,

- Paw Oo Htun is probably the best way to spell it (to differentiate between the aspirated and unaspirated consonants ([tÊ°] as opposed to [t]), but "Htun" is most commonly spelt "Tun", so what is currently used in the article is correct. --Hintha 06:49, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
