[edit] Tokyo Mew Mew

Mint first appears in the second episode of the anime called, "Atarashii Nakama! Seigi no Mikata wa Chou-Ojousama Nyan!" meaning "A New Comrade! Justice Lies in a Real Lady nya!" Ichigo first encounters Mint on the street when Mickey runs through a puddle and jumps on her. After Mint apologizes for the dog and leaves, Ichigo goes to Mint's house to look for a Chimera Animal. Later, Mint's dog, Mickey, transforms into a Chimera Animal and Ichigo transforms and tries to fight the Chimera Animal but is slammed into the wall. Mint calls for Ichigo not to hurt Mickey, just as the creature rips the back of Mint's dress open, revealing a Mew mark. Masha spits out a locket and Mint transforms, driving the alien out of Mickey's body. Later, Mint is told to work at Cafe Mew Mew, which is the headquarters for the Mew Mew project, and Ichigo tries to become friends with her, but Mint refuses to work with her. However, just like the manga, she later becomes good friends with her and ends up saving the world from the aliens with the other Mews Mews.

[edit] Mew Mew Power

Mint also appears in the second episode of the anime, but it is called, "Mew Two"(which may be a reference to the Pokémon Mewtwo, as Pokemon was dubbed by the same company, 4Kids) instead. In the dubbed version, there are a couple of differences and additions, but it is relatively the same. For instance, the first and last part of Mint's transformation are omitted and her lines are changed. However, her story and character are kept pretty much the same, except that she is 16 instead of 12.

[edit] Personality

Mint's family is rich, living in a mansion. She can be mean at times and she is very sarcastic. One of the only people Mint is nice to is Zakuro Fujiwara. She admires Zakuro very much. Mint enjoys having her afternoon tea and rarely helps out at the cafe. She loves ballet and is very good at it. Although Mint may seem like a snob, she really is a nice person and cares about her friends.

But she does look up to her a lot, is a bit obsessed with her, and wants to be like her. Mint has no sure love interest in the manga and anime.

[edit] Abilities and weapons

Mint's DNA is infused with that of an Ultramarine Lorikeet so upon transforming, she sprouts blue bird wings and a tail. With these, she can fly. In the anime, she can communicate with birds and, when she feels great sorrow, withstand the strongest winds.

  • Weapon: Mint Arrow/Mintloon Arrow
  • Attack: Ribbon Mint Echo
  • Weapon: None
  • Attack: Mint Travail
Used by Mint in episode 9, she repeatedly uses ballerina leaps to kick the Chimera Animal in the shins

[edit] Mew Mew Power

  • Weapon: Heart Arrow
  • Attack: none (sometimes called Heart Arrow)

[edit] Voice Actor

  • In the Japanese anime, her seiyū is Yumi Kakazu
  • In the English dub, her voice actress is Andi Whaley.

[edit] Trivia

  • Mint's two character songs are Blue Bird and Afternoon Tea.
  • Mint's name is written in hiragana, which is odd because her name is not of Japanese origin, so her name should be written with katakana. The reason for this maybe to add emphasis, just like how in Japan, they use katakana for Japanese words.
