Leader of the Downunda Freedom Fighters, Walt is a male kangaroo with a pouch. This rare feature for males of his species is used by Walt as a carrier for various items, usually his weapon, the Bomberang. Walt is secretly attracted to fellow DFF member Barby Koala, but has probably never told her.

[edit] Barby Koala

Second-in-command to Walt Wallabee, Barby is not only the object of her superior's affections, but also that of a minor crush from Miles "Tails" Prower. Though she is much older and does not reciprocate his feelings, she does think that he is somewhat cute. As a koala, Barby possesses sharp claws that can cut through nearly anything. She often takes charge more than Walt, but is always ready and willing to follow orders.

[edit] Wombat Stu

Wombat Stu is the smallest and youngest of the Downunda Freedom Fighters. Possessed of super hearing, Stu is also agile due to his small size. Though he originally served with the Downunda Freedom Fighters, he was later recruited into King Acorn's Secret Service.

[edit] Original Freedom Fighters

A Mobian Tiger who founded and led the original Freedom Fighters. His campaign against Robotnik came to an end when he was betrayed and Roboticized with the rest of his command, all of whom were banished to the Zone of Silence.

Clad in an aviator hat and scarf, Sir Peckers was one of the group who founded Knothole as the secret base for the Freedom Fighters.

[edit] Private Trey Scales

Preceding Drago Wolf as traitor to the Freedom Fighters, Trey Scales doublecrossed the original Freedom Fighter group. In response to inquiry, he responded "I'm a snake; it's totally in my nature." Trey proved that cheaters never prosper, as he was Roboticized and sent into the Zone of Silence along with the others.

[edit] MP Bull Bones

Bulldog role model to Sally Acorn and Sonic the Hedgehog, Bones was a member of the group, and like the others ended up in the Zone of Silence.

[edit] Minor SatAM Freedom Fighters

[edit] Ari

Ari is a ram Freedom Fighter and leader of a team that was captured by Robotnik. Desperate to free them, he made a deal with Robotnik, promising to lead Sonic into one of his traps in exchange for the freedom of his team. True to form, Dr. Robotnik had already Roboticized Ari's teammates. Determined to make amends, Ari helped save Sonic, but ended up being drawn into the Void. While there, he became an ally of King Acorn, and was later rescued from the Void after Ixis Naugus' failed escape attempt. Ari later joined the other Freedom Fighters in attacking Robotnik's Doomsday Project.

[edit] Cat

One of the Knothole Freedom Fighters, Cat only appeared in the episode Sonic Boom, joining Sonic, Sally, and Antoine on a mission. When it blew up in their faces, Cat lured away a pursuing robot, giving the others time to escape. Sonic later returned to rescue him, but Cat warned him of danger to Sally, and Sonic was forced to leave. Upon returning, Sonic found Cat's cell empty, his fate unknown; he was presumably Roboticized.

[edit] Dirk

A Mobian bear, Dirk is the leader of the Eastern Freedom Fighters.

[edit] Griff

Leader of a group of Freedom Fighters living in a hidden city called Lower Mobius, which is located below Robotropolis, Griff is a goat who helped Sonic, Sally, and Antoine escape a SWATbot patrol. Desperate to keep his city running, he became quite excited when he learned about the Power Rings. Charming Sally, he managed to sneak into Knothole and steal the Power Rock, intending to use it as a power source for Lower Mobius. Sonic was forced to help save him from an invasion of robots, and Griff was given a portion of the Power Rock to keep the city operational.

[edit] Palo

Leader of the Southern Freedom Fighters, Palo is a Mobian rhinoceros.

[edit] Sonic Underground Freedom Fighers

[edit] ART

One of Dr. Robotnik's most powerful creations, ART was developed for the purpose of defeating the Sonic Underground and their Freedom Fighter allies. Able to absorb any technology into his frame to increase in size and power, ART is a learning robot, capable of adapting to anything his opponents might deploy.

ART was sent to capture the Hedgehogs, going through several form changes as he attempted to abduct them. Despite managing to thwart him several times, the trio were caught by ART while rehearsing for a concert. However, ART had heard them play, and requested a song. The group obliged, and ART's free will was activated by the music, even leading him to play a keyboard similar to Sonia's.

ART then defected to the Freedom Fighters, using his impressive abilities to free prisoners and destroy SWATbots. However, he and the Hedgehogs were later caught in a crushing chamber. Using his strength, ART blasted a door so that his friends could escape, but he himself was crushed. However, he also served to inspire Manic, who at that time had been feeling as though the efforts against Robotnik were pointless.

[edit] Cyrus

Cyrus is a friend of the Sonic Underground. He is a lion and has a high IQ. He is very similar to Tails as he is a mechanical expert, appears to be intelligent and can fly vehicles. He is also a great computer hacker and inventor. Cyrus secretly worked for Robotnik to prevent his father from being roboticized, but Robotnik back-stabbed by taking during the previous latter. Cyrus betrayed Robotnik and stayed loyal to the resistance, helping the hedgehogs in several of their missions.

The Oracle is a Mobian wizard, with multiple abilities such as conjuring and forsight. He serves to test Sonic, Sonia, and Manic as they struggle to end the war and find their mother.
