Minnesota Valley Transit Authority

The Minnesota Valley Transit Authority (MVTA) is a public transportation agency that provides transit services in Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, Rosemount, and Savage. The name refers to the river valley along the Minnesota River. In 2002 Savage withdrew membership fron the MVTA. These areas are in Dakota County and Scott County and are part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. The MVTA also provides express service from these areas to Minneapolis and St. Paul and local service to the Mall of America in Bloomington and the 46th Street Station on the Hiawatha Light Rail Line in south Minneapolis.

- 442: Mall of America to Palomino Hills P&R, Apple Valley Transit Station, and Burnsville Center. On Saturdays Route ends at Apple Valley Transit Station. Monday-Saturday All day.
- 444: Mall of America to NE Burnsville, Burnsville Transit Station, Burnsville Center and Savage P&R.
- 445: Mall of America to Eagan Transit Station, Eagan Town Centre, and Eagan YMCA. 7 days a week, all day.
- 446: 46th St. Light Rail Station to Eagan Corparate Dr., Eagan Transit Center, Parkwood Plaza, and Eagan Wescott Library. Monday-Friday all day.
- 460: Downtown Minneapolis, U of M (U branch only),I-35W and Lake Street Freeway Station, Burnsville Transit Station, Heart of the City P&R (N branch only), and Savage P&R (N branch only). Rush Hour Only.

[edit] Transit centers and park-and-rides
Burnsville Transit Station is the Largest park and ride in the metro area. The Burnsville Transit Station was built in the Early to mid 90's The Apple Valley Transit Station was built in 1999. Also the Eagan Transit Station was built in 2001-2002. The 157th Street Station was completed in 2006. There are also park and rides in the south metro. These include the Savage P&R, the Blackhawk P&R, and the Heart of the City Park and Ride.
