Minister for Foreign Affairs (Finland)

The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Finland (in Finnish Ulkoasiainministeri, in Swedish Utrikesminister) handles Finland's Foreign affairs. The current Minister for Foreign Affairs is Erkki Tuomioja. The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland promotes the security and prosperity of Finnish nationals and has three Ministers in the Council of State of Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen:
- Minister for Foreign Affairs Erkki Tuomioja
- Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Paula Lehtomäki
- Minister of the Environment Jan-Erik Enestam
The different Ministers´ responsibilities in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs are divided as follows:
Minister Lehtomäki is responsible for external economic relations, development cooperation and she coordinates the policy on nearby areas; Minister Enestam is responsible for the Secretariat for Nordic Cooperation and Minister Tuomioja is responsible for all other Finnish foreign policy issues.
