Miniaim

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The correct title of this article is miniaim. The initial letter is shown capitalized due to technical restrictions.

miniaim is a minimalist AIM client using the TOC2 protocol for windows written in C++ by Jon Honeycutt. miniaim uses only the Win32 API, which gives it its small size (currently 63.5k).

miniaim's small feature-set includes:

  • minimizing to tray
  • tabbed interface with middle click close
  • single executable (no installation needed), with optional OTR library, naturally portable
  • option to use your formatting for incoming messages
  • option to use the Off-the-record messaging library
  • ability to receive files, with or without using the AOL file transfer proxy
  • option to log conversations in html or plain text
  • saving settings to a tiny external file (miniaim.ini)
  • graphical smilies (with option to disable them)
