Mingus Mountains

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mingus Mountain, also Mingus Mountains, is a mountain range in the U.S. state of Arizona. From the mountain you can get a view of Verde Valley, and the towns of Cottonwood, Jerome, and Clarkdale. There are campsites.

The musician Justin Chancellor of the band Tool got married on this mountain.

According to the book, Roadside History of Arizona, by Marshall Trimble, "Mingus Mountain was named for Joseph and Jacob Mingus, two brothers who settled in the area in the 1880's and later operated a sawmill near the base of the mountain".
