Minamoto no Yoshikuni

Minamoto no Yoshikuni (1082-1155), was son of famous samurai Yoshiie and ancestor of the Ashikaga and Nitta families. Yoshikuni, was the samurai, implored the spirit of the Iwashimizu Shrine to start living in this bamboo grove and builted a shrine in honor of the god, Hachimangu.
