Minamisatsuma, Kagoshima

Minamisatsuma (南さつま市; -shi) is a city located in Kagoshima, Japan.
The city was founded on November 7, 2005 from the merger of the city of Kaseda with the towns of Bonotsu, Kasasa, and Oura from Kawanabe District and the town of Kinpou from the former Hioki District.
As of its founding but with October 1, 2004 population data, the city has an estimated population of 42,258 and a density of 149 persons per km². The total area is 283.30 km².
